Identification of potential CDM project development helped spark the interest of stakeholders who were not necessarily aware that CDM projects could be developed in their area. Description of potential projects through their purpose (genetic definition), the activities within them (ontological definition), their mode of operation (functional definition), potential actors who should be involved in these types of projects, already approved methodology that they could use, and calculation of potential emission reduction of Greenhouse Gases and the associated financial flows have attracted the interest of participants. The example of such projects already implemented in other countries has served to reassure their feasibility. Identification of potential CDM project development was a prerequisite for the realization of a capacity tailored building program. The training task was carried out on concrete cases of potential projects in Haiti. The study concludes that the approach appears to be effective to achieve the objective of creating conditions for development of CDM to serve the energy sector in Haiti. The potential areas for development of CDM projects have been clearly identified and the potential assessed. The impact of individual projects on the development of energy sector was also estimated. At least five CDM projects could be launched very soon. Holders of these projects have participated in capacity building of level 1 and 2 and have seen the wisdom to exploit the opportunities offered by the CDM. Afficher moins -

Toutefois, la consommation de bois de chauffage est l’un des principaux facteurs de cette détérioration. À l’échelle nationale, près de 70 % des besoins en énergie sont comblés par le bois de chauffage et le charbon. Bien que les ressources locales en bois de chauffage soient surexploitées depuis plus de 20 ans, le prix de ce bois ne reflète pas sa rareté, ce qui constitue une grave menace écologique à l’échelle nationale. Le secteur de l’énergie domestique demeure, de loin, le principal consommateur de bois ligneux, avec une consommation de près de 70 % de l’offre globale.
